One girl's journey through the makeup industry

Spring Cleaning – Makeup Edition April 7, 2013

Finally, trees are turning green, flowers are blooming, the wind is softly blowing in cool hair on a warm day.  Spring is upon us!!  While my husband and I are in full-blown Spring Cleaning mode, purging our house of things we haven’t touched in years, I figured I would give you all some tips and guidelines on how to keep your makeup collection up-to-date and clean.

What many people don’t know is that expired, unclean makeup can lead to those pesky breakouts we get.  If your brushes are never cleaned, they harbor tons of bacteria which cause blotchy skin and pimples.  Shadows, foundation, compacts, pretty much all of your makeup, if not cleaned and sanitized can become a place for bacteria to hide.

As I am a makeup artist, I take pride in my sanitation and cleanliness of my makeup.  There are a few products that I would HIGHLY recommend to my readers – all of these will help clean your brushes, sanitize your makeup and get you in a better habit so that if you do have a minor breakout, you can say cross out the possibility that it comes from your cosmetics.

1. Cleaning your brushes

It is important to deep-clean your brushes as often as once a week.  Now your asking, deep-cleaning, what does that entail?  A VERY inexpensive and effective way I clean my brushes to rid them of product is Johnson’s Baby Shampoo.

Johnson’s Baby Shampoo, Lavender scent – $5.79

I prefer to use the Lavender scent because I just smells divine and most of my clients love the scent as well!  Honestly, any gentle baby shampoo will do.  Just wet your brush, making sure you do not let water get into the ferrule – the usually silver, metal part of the brush handle that holds the brush hair.  If this part of the brush gets wet it will compromise the glue holding the bristles and eventually they will start to fall out.  So swirl the brush in the palm of your hand until all of the product comes out.  Rinse, reform the brush and let dry overnight.

For “spot-cleaning”, which is quickly cleaning and sanitizing your brushes, in between use I would never survive without my M.A.C. Brush Cleanser.

M.A.C Brush Cleanser, $14.00

This stuff is a miracle worker in my eyes.  Even with hard stained brushes that hold foundation or lipstick, this stuff cleans them so well and also has a significant amount of alcohol in it to disinfect.  All you need is the brush cleaner and a hand towel you don’t mind getting grimy and even stained.  Give the brush bristles two drops of the solution, swirl in the towel until all of the product is removed.  Before you use the brush next, make sure it is fully dry, which takes anywhere from 5-15 minutes.  Clinique, Estee Lauder and E.L.F. make similar cleaning solutions.

2. Sanitizing powder, liquid products

A staple in my makeup kit, and personal collection for serious sanitizing of my makeup is Beauty So Clean products.

This company makes amazing sanitizing products for all of your cosmetics.  There is a spray, which can be used for brushes, cream formulas, shadows, loose powder, on and on.  They also make wipes which you can clean your liners and lipsticks, anything solid.

3. Expiration dates

A few years ago, I was surprised to find out that makeup does have an expiration date and unfortunately, it’s a quick life for most of our cosmetics.  I’ve made a small list of the accepted expiration dates for most makeup.

Oil-free foundation: 1 year
Cream or compact foundation: 18 months
Concealer: 12-18 months
Powder: 2 years
Blush and bronzer: 2 years
Powder eyeshadow: 2 years
Cream eyeshadow: 12-18 months
Eyeliner: 2 years, if sharpened regularly
Liquid eyeliner: 3-6 months
Mascara: 3 months
Lipstick: 2 years
Lip liner: 2 years
Lip gloss: 18-24 months

If you can, remember when you opened the product and keep track.  These products will lose a lot of their staying power, vibrancy and durability if used past its expiration date.

Last, and definitely not least, when you are at a department store, or makeup store, please PLEASE please make sure you use disposable applicators instead of trying things directly from their container.  There is no telling how many people have touched these products so it’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to putting things on your face and close to your eyes.

I hope you try these tips out yourself!  Remember, our skin is the biggest organ we have.  We must keep it as clean as we possibly can, and it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg at all!

Favorite Spring Lip Products March 17, 2013

Spring is on the brink of breaking through so I thought I’d share some of my favorite Spring lip products!

On Fire Red, Nearly There, Fruit Punch

On Fire Red is a part of the VIVID collection by Maybelline.  This range of lipsticks is such a hit from Maybelline.  They are SUPER opaque and creamy to apply.  This shade, On Fire Red, is a bold, true-red color.  It’s highly pigmented and lasts pretty well.  I do find that you have somewhat of a stain left behind when it does wear off which is a great thing IMO.  You do have to be careful when applying and I recommend applying a lipliner beforehand to prevent bleeding and help guide the shape.  The Vivid lipsticks are found at drugstores and are priced at $7.49.

Nearly There from Maybelline has been in my collection since highschool.  I have always turned to this shade as my go-to nude color.  It is a nude with pink undertones which works well with my own lipcolor.  It does have a slight gold shimmer but it’s not obnoxiously noticeable.  It lasts well through the day and although I do have to touch up after a couple of hours I don’t mind the hassle because I love the shade so much!  This color is a part of their permanent ColorSensational collection and is priced at $7.49.

Fruit Punch is a new addition to the Color Sensational range by Maybelline.  I purchased this color a couple of months ago and I put it on 2-3 times a week because it’s just so gorgeous.  It’s a beautiful strawberry, pink shade with a tiny bit of golden shimmer.  I think the color payoff is great with this shade and a perfect way to brighten your face.  I usually pair this with a simple eye look and soft foundation so that the lips are the main attraction.  This shade is $7.49 as well.

Lilac, Temptress, Softsilver Red, Sugar Plum, Berry Smoothie

First, Lilac is an old lipstick from Revlon I’ve rediscovered and I’m so glad I did.  It’s a beautiful soft, purple shade and it’s so easy to wear.  When I think about purple lipsticks, I don’t think attractive but this is such a soft shade of purple it really works well.  This lipstick has great pigmentation and is super hydrating.  I think this would work great with tan, olive or medium tone complexions.  It is priced at $7.99.

Temptress is a shade in the Revlon Super Lustrous collection.  It’s creamy texture makes it moisturizing on the lips and is a beautiful soft pink color.  It does have a small amount of gold shimmer to it but again, nothing too obnoxious.  I really love this shade in the spring/summer months.  It gives a youthful glow to any makeup look.  It’s $7.99 at local drugstores.

Softsilver Red is an addition to the same Super Lustrous collection.  This has more of a frost finish, which I’m not a HUGE fan of, but when I pair it with a gloss the frosty finish is not so bad.  I really do love the shade, it’s a rosy, deeper red color.  This color would look stunning on tan skin in the midst of the summer months!  This lipstick is also $7.99.

Here we are at the Revlon Lip Butters.  They have completely stole my heart!  Sugar Plum is a sheer mauve shade.  The best thing about any of the Lip Butter’s is their creamy, moisturizing finish.  I mean, I can’t say enough about how much I love the formula of these lipsticks.  They don’t have the best longevity but their consistency is such a wonder to apply that I don’t mind it one bit.  You can build the color with a few coats but it won’t go on too opaque so beware of that.

Berry Smoothie has been in my collection since the Lip Butter range released. I LOVE this sheer shade of berry pink.  It’s got some gold shimmer to it and it leaves a super glossy finish to the lips.  No need for gloss with these bad girls! 🙂  The Lip Butter’s are $7.49.

Maybelline Color Whispers

Pin Up Peach, Mocha Muse

Now, the Maybelline Color Whisper’s have not been my favorite formula.  I like to have more opaque shades of lipstick but for someone who just wants a sheer wash of color to their lips these are PERFECT.  I do find that they’re a little drying but if I apply a lip balm or gloss on top I’m good to go.

Pin Up Peach is a sheer pinky peach color.  I usually wear this when I’m on the go and need something quick but it’s a beautiful soft color that is an everyday lipstick!

Mocha Muse is a pinky brown shade that I do find I grab for a lot.  It’s a soft nude color on my already pink lips so it tones them down a little.  I do like that they’re so easy to apply, no need for a mirror as the color is so sheer you could easily wipe away any excess color from the edges of your lip line.  These are $7.49.

Lip gloss

NARS – Female Trouble, Revlon – Peony
Revlon – Coral Reef, Benefit – Dandelion

On to my favorite lip products!  Gloss is such an easy product for me.  I have naturally pink lips so just adding a little gloss on by itself is a quick and easy way to add some dimension to my lips.

NARS’ Female Trouble – #1 lip product of all time for me.  I got this in Chicago at The Makeup Show last summer and have purchased two more since then.  It’s my everyday gloss that I couldn’t live without.  It cancels out the pink in my lips to leave such a beautiful mauve, mid-tone purple to my lips.  I just LOVE it.  I also add it to any newer shade of lipstick that I try, and maybe don’t quite love the color.  If I add this gloss on top of a not-so-right shade of lipstick it immediately corrects it.  It’s priced at $25.00 and can be found at Sephora or NARS’ website.

Revlon Peony is a BEAUTIFUL peach gloss that can easily be worn alone for a little bit of sheer color.  The bits of gold glitter in the gloss leave a beautiful shine to the lips.  It’s not sticky at all and feels great on the lips.  This can be found at any drugstore at $7.49.

Revlon Color Reef is another BRIGHT coral shade that’s perfect for spring or summer.  It’s a quick pick-me-up shade and if you layer the color becomes more opaque.  This is $7.49 as well.

Benefit Dandelion is a gloss I got in a set with blush and highlighter.  I find that I can add this gloss on top of ANY lipstick to give a little shine and it works beautifully.  I absolutely LOVE the smell of this lip gloss too – it just immediately makes me think of spring flowers and candy all together.  This can be found at Benefit’s website or at Sephora or Ulta for $16.00.

So, there you have all of my favorite spring lip products!  Most can be found for a great price at the drugstore and the ones that are a little pricey are well worth the price, IMO.

Let me know what some of your favorite Spring shades of lip products are in the comments below!

March ipsy Glam Bag March 12, 2013

In my hundreds of hours looking at makeup videos, articles on Beautylish and following some AMAZINGLY talented makeup artists on Instagram I came across the monthly beauty bag subscription craze!

Obviously I’m a little late to this bandwagon but once I got the jist of how it works I immediately jumped right on board!!  I did research on a few different options from Birchbox, Beauty Bar, Glossy Box, etc.  I narrowed my choice down, finally, to the ipsy Glam Bag!

After signing up online I found that I was FOR SURE behind on the craze because I was on the waiting list for close to two months before my subscription was official and my first bag was shipped.

So, after lots of anxious and excited waiting, I received my first Glam Bag yesterday in the mail!  Not only was this wrapped in HOT PINK bubble wrapping but the bag that all the beauty goodies come in was so friggin’ cute!

The theme for this months Glam Bag was “The Great Escape” – all of the products included are great for on-the-go ladies (and gents!) heading to Spring Break or vacation with the weather warming up.

I think the bag is so cute!  It’s the perfect size for taking all of your “essential” makeup and beauty products with you on-the-go.  I, being the indecisive person I am, would pack this little bag FULL.

Now, onto the actual goodies inside!

Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist

Juice Beauty products are made with certified organic ingredients – which give them their slogan “The Organic Solution”.  This hydrating mist tones and refreshes the skin with a blend of rosehip, ylang ylang, resveratrol grapeseed oil and antioxidant-rich organic juices for a fresh radiant complexion.  It says to mist on freshly cleaned skin and throughout the day for exhilarating refreshment.

I did just that – I cleaned my skin thoroughly and applied the mist before any moisturizer or eye cream and let it really sink into the skin.  I honestly noticed my skin looked so radiant after it dried and the texture of my skin was extremely smooth.  I will definitely be using this stuff throughout the spring and summer months for a refreshing, cool feeling!

yaby eye shadows in shade sand due (left) and so vein (right)

Top – so vein
Bottom – sand dune – which is BARELY visible but it’s there!

After swatching these shadows my first impression was they are a little chalky.  It took me 4 swipes of each color to get any kind of vibrancy on my hand when swatching.  They are beautiful colors but it takes some working with it and patience to get any color payoff.  Stay tuned for a look including “so vein” and “sand dune”.

Check out for a HUGE range of shadows and much more.

La Fresh Makeup Remover Wipes

This travel size package of makeup remover wipes dissolves makeup from eyes, lips and face with a moisturizing formula that has vitamin E included in the ingredients.

You can get these great wipes at

GLAMRX palette

This travel-size palette is great for small-pan eye shadows that have been depotted from their original packaging.  If you would like a tutorial on how to depot any kind of makeup leave a comment below and I can make a pictorial on easy ways to get eyeshadows, blushes, pressed powders and even lipsticks all into one convenient palette.

I was so happy to find this card included 20%-30% off the products I received in my Glam Bag.

Overall, I am so happy with the items I got in my first GlamBag.  I would highly recommend you sign up for this subscription – at just $10 per month it’s a great deal!  I love the idea of trying some luxury size samples and some full-size products for this price because I can try them out before actually purchasing for full-price.

If you have a subscription to ipsy or any other monthly beauty bag/box program, tell me which one you are getting in the comments below!

Check back each month as I will show you all everything that comes in my ipsy Glam Bag!

L’oreal Infallible 24-hour Eyeshadow March 10, 2013

The L’oreal Infallible Shadows have quickly become my FAVORITE eye shadows of all time!  Not only do they have a wide range of shades to choose from but the formula of these beauties is amazing – they transfer SUPER-pigmented color to the lids, they blend beautifully and they last throughout the day without wearing off.

The texture is almost buttery to the touch and almost feel creamy at first and set to a powder finish, if that makes sense!  I can, with confidence, compare them to more expensive shadows such as Urban Decay or even M.A.C.  I think they’re that great and at a much cheaper price.

You can find these at any drugstore, though some locations have more variety of colors than others.  At my local drugstore they’re priced at $8.99 but that usually changes with store locations.  I’m not exactly sure on the amount of colors they have at my local store but it’s anywhere from 10 to 18 shades that are available at various locations.

I have only collected four shades so far, though I plan to broaden my collection slowly!  I wear these shadows almost daily and I’ve been so happy with the outcome.

556 – Smoldering Plum 335 – Golden Emerald 892 – Amber Rush 890 {smashed!} – Bronzed Taupe

On a daily basis I apply Amber Rush all over the lid until I get to the crease and then blend Bronzed Taupe into the outer corner and into the crease.  I also take Bronzed Taupe and apply a small amount, with a small detail brush, to the lower lashline to add definition.

Here are a few looks I’ve created with these shadows.

image (22)

I used Smoldering Plum through the crease and outer corner on this look

image (23)

I used Edgy Emerald all over the lid for this look.

image (24)

I used Amber Rush on the lid and Bronzed Taupe lightly through the crease on this look.

As said before, these are fast becoming a staple in my own makeup bag as well as my professional kit!  I’m so happy with all aspects of this eyeshadow range and can’t wait to try more shades!

If you have tried these, please leave a comment below and let me know the color you got and how you like them – I’d love to hear your experience!

Until next time…

First Impression – tarte Amazonian Clay full coverage 12-hour Foundation February 17, 2013

This foundation can be found at Sephora for $38 online.  Unfortunately, at Sephora and tarte’s website there are only 8 shades to choose from.  But I chose the shade “light” and I found that it matched perfectly.  I’m always excited to try a full-coverage foundation and one that says it stays in place for 12-hours, well, that’s my kind of foundation!

Here are tarte’s claims about this foundation:

“Whether oily, dry or combination, “skin-smart” Amazonian clay will intuitively adjust to meet and address your skin concerns for makeup that wears better, longer, and truer. This revolutionary foundation reduces the appearance of pores, discolorations, and imperfections and ensures a perfectly flawless complexion every time.”

Here is a swatch of the foundation in the shade light

Right off the bat, as you can tell from this swatch, it does completely cover any imperfections and discoloration.  You can see the bluish color of my veins on my hand right above the blended out swatch and they completely disappear when the foundation is blended out.  The texture is silky, almost mousse-like, which I love – almost a cream, almost a liquid.

image (17)

I apologize for the harsh lighting, still working on the settings for my new camera! Nonetheless, this is my bare skin with only moisturizer and eye cream.

I did not apply any sort of primer, as I want to see how well the foundation would last throughout the day and also a primer would help even the texture of my skin, so I wanted to see how tarte’s claims held up!

image (19)

Here the foundation is applied with just one layer all over and applied additionally to any problem areas, such as hyper-pigmentation or current blemishes.

As seen in this picture, the foundation is full coverage and it really does blend into the skin beautifully.  My dark circles, unfortunately, had to be hidden by my holy-grail of concealers, Amazing Cosmetics – Amazing Concealer (which, if you’re like me, don’t sleep well, have a toddler and your dark circles haunt your dreams, check it out!!)

image (21)

Here, the foundation has been on for 12 hours.

Hopefully, you can tell the foundation still looks just as good as it did when first applied.  It did settle into my smile lines and creases under my eyes but that’s typical for my skin and any foundation.

Overall, I do LOVE this foundation.  I think it’s mousse-y texture is a dream to apply and it blends so well.  I did find that my nose got a little flaky through the day, as I was using tissues to get my sickyness out!  Other than that I think it’s great.  It seemed to work well with my dry areas around the perimeter of my face and as well with my oily t-zone.  I think this foundation would work great on all skin-types as it really does adjust to work for any problem areas.

The only negative I could see is the shade-range.  I hope since this foundation has had such great reviews in the past that they’ll bring out a better color range for those who are very fair or darker skin tones.

I give this foundation a B+.

You can find this foundation at or on tarte’s website at

tarte discover the Amazon 3-piece kit February 16, 2013

After hearing countless raves about tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation, I decided I had to try it myself! In the colder, winter months I prefer a medium to full-coverage foundation to hide any blemishes, acne scaring and discoloration in my skin so just the name of the foundation caught my eye.

I found a set at Sephora that had a sample of the foundation along with the Pure Maracuja Oil and tarte’s Gifted mascara so I thought this would be a more economical way of testing the foundation, while receiving a few extra goodies at the same time!

tarte discover the Amazon 3-piece set

I was so happy to see the box and bag that came with the 3-piece set! The beautiful design reminds me of spring, which immediately put a smile on my face as it is dreary and cold outside today! I can’t wait to put my everyday makeup essentials in the clutch-size bag to keep in my purse.

Now, on to the products included in the set.

This foundation is definitely a medium to full coverage foundation and the finish is a natural satin finish.

Look out for my First Impression post on this foundation later tomorrow as I’m wearing it throughout the morning and evening today to see how I like it.

Pure Maracuja Oil

This oil is super hydrating for the face and neck and has essential fatty acids and Vitamin C to brighten and tone skin. It is not greasy feeling whatsoever. The silver roller ball is cold to the touch so it feels soothing when applying the product!

Gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara

This mascara is the first I’ve tried from tarte’s collection and I LOVE it so far. The wand has densely packed bristles and doesn’t leave my lashes clumpy at all and I found it was super lengthening as well.

Here is a demo.

image (16)

One eye without mascara
The other with the gifted Amazonian clay smart mascara

Overall, I’m happy with this purchase from Sephora! Everything that came in the kit seems to live up to what it claims. As said before, check back tomorrow for my First Impression review of the Amazonian Clay 24-hour full coverage foundation.

You can find this set together at It’s a new addition to Sephora’s site and is sold for $34.50. Everything included is originally a $68 value, so well worth the price!

You can also check out the tarte website at to purchase these items individually.

I hope this helps you all out when thinking about purchasing any of the items discussed!

If you have tried any three of these products, or all, please leave a comment below and let me know what you thought about them!

See you soon, for my First Impression review tomorrow!

Makeup Favorites from The Grammy’s 2013 February 12, 2013

The 2013 Grammy’s were this past weekend and I unfortunately had a bad sleeping situation with my daughter so we were watching Disney instead! Do not fear, I’ve been scouring the net for my favorite looks from the night and I want to share with you the celebrity makeup styles that stood out to me.

Katy Perry
Makeup Artist – Jake Bailey

First off, how beautiful is the neckline of this dress!?! I’m in love with this woman – now officially my female crush! She looks so glamorous and elegant at the same time and the contrast between her sea-foam green dress and that jet black hair is just out of this world! I think her makeup artist executed this look with perfection – the soft smokey eye, feathery lashes and nude lips works magic against the drama of the gown.

Makeup Artist – Mylah Morales

Rihanna’s uber talented makeup artist did such an amazing job with her red lips! It’s often difficult to match red lipstick if wearing red in your wardrobe – you have to be so careful that the hues don’t clash or take away from one another! Lucky us, Mylah Morales tweeted the exact lip combo she used on Rihanna for the Grammy’s – she lined her lips with Cherry lip pencil, filled them in with Ruby Woo (one of the best colors, IMO, made by M.A.C.), and placed Lady Danger in the center and blended. The simple black liner adds perfect dimension to the lash line and leaves such a polished look! BRAVO!!

Makeup Artist – Michael Ashton

Adele can do no wrong in my book. She is such a stunning woman in so many aspects of the word – her voice:like an angel, her confidence: contagious and she always has such flawless makeup. Her signature look of full-on lashes, soft pinky-nude lips and contoured cheekbones was in full-effect in only a way she can pull off! Another beautiful aspect of this look was the hair… it looked so effortless and whimsical. As always, A+ from me, Adele, A+!

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

Alexa Chung
Unfortunately, after much searching, I could not find who her makeup artist was!

Alexa’s messy updo and soft makeup fit her subdued style perfectly. The orangey-red lips are such a beautiful pair with her fair complexion – it gives her a fresh and young look that works so well!

And last but surely not least

Justin Timberlake
Makeup Artist – not needed!

Really. Really! Justin Timberlake got so much buzz for his slicked back hair and for good reason! This polished look is so different from the curly-cue heartthrob we all feel in love with in the 90’s. His grown-up Grammy look is a refreshing change, and we can all hope to see more of it… although he could be covered in mud and grit and still be charming.

So there are my favorites from The Grammy’s 2013.

If there were some favorites of yours that I missed, let me know I’d love to see!

Street Style – New York Fashion Week 2013 February 9, 2013

Fashion Week is in full effect in New York as we speak and as much as most enjoy watching the new styles of the runway, I can’t get enough of the Street Styles that the show-goers are flashing on the sidewalks of New York!  While I do like to view the new collections from top designers, and wishing I could be there all the same, I LOVE to see how everyday women take their own style to the runway shows.  It’s about being comfortable and WEARABLE to me.  So here are a few of my favorite looks that ladies are wearing during Fashion Week 2013 on the streets of NY.

I’m loving the natural makeup with a pop of pink/red color for the lips- it’s so fresh and relaxed!

Would you rock these outfits?  I want to know your thoughts and any feedback is welcome!!

Rodan + Fields Skincare February 4, 2013

Honestly, I had never heard of this brand and am always skeptical of ANY skincare brand because there are countless products on the market that claim “this” and claim “that” but  ultimately do not deliver, for me at least.  When I arrived at a recent Rodan + Fields skincare party I was blown away by the information provided.  This company is owned and operated by the same two ingenious women that created Proactive – and we all know how well Proactive works for most who try it!

“Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields founded Rodan + Fields® Dermatologists in 2002 to extend their vision of bringing dermatology-based skin treatment to everyone. Originally available as a top-selling clinical skincare brand in high-end department stores, the company realized the Doctors’ vision could never be fully realized when confined to the department store counter. In an unprecedented move, Rodan + Fields became the first prestige skincare line to exit the department store for the world of direct selling. And today, there are numerous Rodan + Fields independent business owners experiencing the income associated with sales volume that far exceeds what leading department store chains were able to achieve.  The power of the individual, combined with Rodan + Fields’ brand legacy, clinically proven products and a proprietary systematic approach to independent business management, makes Rodan + Fields an opportunity like no other.”

The idea behind Rodan + Fields is to categorize skincare needs on a personal level.  There are 4 categories of skincare treatments – Anti-Age, Reverse, Soothe and Unblemish.  Aside from the main 4 categories of skincare, there is also an Enhancement line and Essentials line.

Below I will describe each category.

  • Anti-Age: regimen for wrinkles, pores and loss of firmness.  This line includes a daily cleansing mask, a pore minimizing toner, a triple defense treatment and an overnight restorative cream.

  • Reverse: regimen for brown spots, dullness and sun damage.  This includes a deep exfoliating wash, skin lightening toner, skin lightening treatment and broad spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen.

  • Soothe: regimen for sensitive, irritated skin and facial redness.  Included are a gentle cream wash, sensitive skin treatment, moisture replenishing cream, and a mineral sunscreen.

  • Unblemish: regimen for acne and post-acne marks.  Line includes acne treatment sulfur wash, spot fading/clarifying toner, and a dual intensive acne treatment.

I explained to the ladies hosting the event that my main problems are sensitivity, fine lines, and uneven skin tone.  If I were to target all of my skin issues I would have had to buy all four of the regimen’s, and I couldn’t bring myself to make such a purchase.  So I decided to purchase a few of the anti-age products just to give it a shot!  I was splitting at the seams to get this package in the mail as I’m always cautious but excited to give a new skincare product a try.

photo (20)

I decided to purchase the Anti-Age Daily Cleansing Mask and the Anti-Age Overnight Restorative Cream

The cleansing mask is supposed to be used twice a day, in the morning and at night.  You apply a quarter-sized amount with wet fingers to your DRY skin and leave on for two minutes, rinsing afterwards and patting dry.  The overnight cream is, of course, only used at night after cleansing with the mask.  You place a dime-sized amount evenly on clean skin and let absorb.  I have used both products twice and I’m not sure if these are SUPER products or if my mind is playing tricks on me but I feel like I can already tell this stuff works wonders.  I took all my makeup off tonight and looked in the mirror before cleansing completely with the mask and I thought to myself “Wow, you’re skin looks better without all that makeup on!” and wow, as a makeup artist, those are some strong words to come out of my mouth!

I did take a couple of pictures in between uses but unfortunately you can’t see much of a difference on my camera so I will post more as time goes and I use the products more!

In conclusion, I’m going to be doing a weekly follow-up review of these two products for a month so you all can follow my results and decide for yourself how you think it’s working!

If you’re interested in try any of the products I’ve explained PLEASE contact Amy Hooper at or Ashley Ullstein at (clever email, huh?)
